Why AI-Led Strategy is Failing (The Conviction Gap)

AI-Led Strategy is Failing (The Conviction Gap)

Traditional strategy is a marathon of grappling. You spend weeks interviewing customers, documenting systems, and living in the problem space. By the time you write the document, it’s imbued with your energy.

The problem with AI-generated strategy is that no one is deeply connected to it.

We are using AI to skip the 'living and breathing' phase, but that is exactly where the buy-in is earned. When a strategy deck lacks that human 'energy,' stakeholders aren’t getting the spark. Digital transformation fails not because the AI’s logic is wrong, but because no human has the conviction to lead it.

The Lesson: Use AI to analyse the systems, but don't let it do the 'grappling' for you. Strategy is a transfer of energy, and AI has no skin in the game.
